Who is your favorite philosopher, and why?

Tolstoy. Notwithstanding war and peace, I have found that Tolstoy saw the world the same way as I do, (i.e. observe the same patterns and relationships in people, society etc.) So to me Tolstoy's philosophy is at minimum clarity in realism. My personal opinion is that you have to know exactly what your standing on before you know how to build on it. (i know that was muddled up but I am in a bit of a hurry)

What attracted you to join this group?

I desperately long to talk to people about the things I enjoy thinking about.

How do you define philosophy? There is no wrong answer.

examining the variables available in the means to achieve the best inevitable end.

I am new to the area, in a way, and I would really like to meet some people who don't think I am completely weird. I also really enjoy talking to new people and hearing new and different perspectives on things.
