Excel In Accounting is a program sponsored by the San Francisco chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (SFIMA). The IMA is the organization that sponsors the CMA designation (Chartered Management Accountant). Our organization is comprised of accountants and financial managers in and around San Francisco. Visit our website at www.sfima.org
We created the Excel in Accounting program because we saw a need in our membership for advanced Excel skills. Almost all of us use Excel daily, but we wanted a forum to share the advanced techniques most applicable to accountants and financial managers. Also, wanted to offer our members a chance to earn CPE credit (continuing education) towards their CMA requirement.
Although created with SFIMA members in mind, our Excel sessions are open to everyone.
Sessions are volunteer led, and held mostly on Saturday mornings for 3-4 hours, every month or two. Usually, we offer some coffee and breakfast pastries. We charge a small fee to cover the snacks and other incidental expenses of hosting the session.
