Elvelangs i Fakkellys 2013/Annual Akers River Walk by Candlelight

Come see over 3500 candles/torches lit along the Aker river from Frysja to Ankerbrua! Elvelangs i Fakkellys (The River Walk by Candlelight) is held on the Thursday closest to the autumnal equinox - a day when day and night are of equal length.

The River Walk is a unique cultural event. Nature, darkness and candlelight is part of the experience. The river front is filled with various cultural elements such as choirs, dancing, fire juggling, corps, waffle sales, campfire and much, much more.

The event is managed by a committee consisting of one person from each of the four districts of Oslo. Local forces involved with torch lighting and artistic performances.
