Experience an evening walk at a local off-leash park!

Join us as we take in an evening stroll at our local off-leash park! You do not need to have a dog for this meetup, you may just like to take a walk with us and our friendly dogs anyway!

We will aim to walk around 3 km at a ... pace. We will do 2 loops of the 1.14 km trail and some added twists and turns in the bush. I know many of our members have dogs and this would be a great event to get to know them! (many members love dogs too and dont always get a chance to get out and have fun with them)

(Above: Aslan (Sandy's dog) and Libby (Cindy's dog) enjoying Maple Grove)

We will meet at the off-leash dog park kiosk (starred above) and let the dogs play while we all arrive. You can park along the road, in a small parking lot by the kiosk or further along in another car park. There are signs along the 30 km/hr road to let you know where to park.

The Plan:

5:30pm - meet near the off-leash dog park kiosk - hand out lanyards, do introductions of members and dogs while the dogs run around the field having a great time!

5:45pm - start our walk around the park, varying our route on the second loop, walking along the river, through the woods and possibly visit the fenced in area so the dogs can play together and we can chat

7:30pm - time to head home

*Sunset is around 8:30 pm

Please Bring:

• warm winter clothes (dress in layers)

• warm gloves or mittens, and a toque

• your Experience Manitoba lanyard (if you don't have one, you'll receive yours at this meetup)

• camera (optional)

• thermos of a hot beverage or water (optional)

• snacks (optional)

• your people-friendly and dog-friendly dog  (optional)

• doggie bags/leash/treats/water for your dog (optional)

I so needed that!Thank you ladies for a lovely evening walk - I really enjoyed showing off this park to you lovely ladies. The dogs were great fun - and we learned a new phrase: "Poop Karma" - when you pick up another dog's poop at the dog park because you'll probably accidentally miss a couple of your own dog's poops at some point.

Sorry ladies, I can't make the walk. My granite for the kitchen was delivered today and everything was measured incorrectly. They say they will have it sorted out by tomorrow aft, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Hi Sandy. Is this still on?? It is a long way to go for me and rushing to get there on time and if there are only 2 other people....??

We are still on Josie :) Don't rush to the point where it takes the pleasure out of going, we can take a little stroll for 10 minutes and come back to the meeting place if you are going to be 10-15 minutes late - see you tonight :)
