Join us for an evening gear clinic at Mountain Equipment Co-op!
We rarely have indoor events, but when we do, we make sure they're worth it (like all our events!) With that said, spring is coming and we're all going to need gear to get out and enjoy our upcoming hiking, paddling, backpacking, and camping trips this summer.
MEC Winnipeg is putting on a gear clinic just for our members to attend. The topic of the clinic will be "Hiking and Backpacking 101" and will include topics on hiking, clothing selection, footwear selection, and general backpacking tips and tricks.
After the clinic, we get a chance to browse through the awesome selection of gear and clothing, AND, we get a 10% discount on all purchases made during the event. (The 10% discount is on everything (including bikes and boats), but does not get added on top of products already on clearance or products that get a discount from packages. The discount applies only to what is in stock in the store at the time of the clinic.)
Parking is available on the street or at numerous parkades near the store. With a $10 purchase they will give you an hour of free parking at the Smith Street Parkade.
Please note that MEC is a co-operative, and you have to be a member in order to shop at MEC. Lifetime memberships cost $5 and can be purchased at the counter in the store or online. Info about the co-op can be found here: http://www.mec.ca/AST/ContentPrimary/AboutMEC/AboutOurCoOp.jsp
6:45pm - meet at MEC Winnipeg at 303 Portage Avenue.
7:00pm - clinic starts
8:00pm - clinic ends and we get a chance to shop :)
9:00pm - MEC closes, and the shopping portion of the evening ends
