Or the years invested in a job you did not like, for the sake of survival? Life times of building careers or raising families or both? In the end, when your time and energy are spent, when life is winding down and you pass the torch to the next generation, what was it all for? What thing of value did you pass on?

In all of human existence there has been nothing achieved that time has not eroded away. No empire, no dynasty, no amount of wealth and power has stood the test of time. All these tangibles are but illusions of the Ego and temporal in nature.

There is however another world, another way of perceiving life. It is not hidden from us, it is not a secret meant for the privileged few. It has always been here, ours for the asking. It has been proclaimed and taught by countless masters throughout human history. The Course In Miracles is yet another way of bringing this wisdom to those who would have and share it.

The greatest gift we can pass on to those who come after us is the ability to love and be loved, to be compassionate and kind. And to be aware not only of self, but also of that part of our selves that is in others.
