F/1.0 : To Inspire Confidence, Direction & Purpose In Your Photography.

This event is open to all photographers who want to take their skills up to a higher level immediately & get 100% full & undivided attention. F/1.0 Mentorship is here to guide you towards personal mastery in your photography by giving you time & access to the expertise you need:

"I've always enjoyed events with Al and the group. Every meetup has been eye-opening, a chance to learn something new, and enjoy an inspiring mix of photography, art and science. My only dilemma was that every new piece of the puzzle I learned opened new doors and produced new questions. I felt like I just couldn't wait for the next event to have them answered. That's why I honestly believe that my F/1.0 One-To-One session with Al was one of the best things I've ever treated myself to. I got to ask all the questions I wanted, got all my answers, and actually got to go through my shots one pixel at a time (almost literally). I never thought I could get 10 meetups worth of information & such deep insight into my work in one session. It's always amazing to see how Al can actually read your shots and see them as you've never seen them before. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level.

Thank you so much Al, looking forward to our next session."

Limited to one student per class, by application only. No RSVP's please. Why? I want to make sure you're getting maximum value for your time; and that means I'll need to know what you want to work on most & why.

Most importantly, I need to know we're a good match & that I can truly help you gain valuable skills & insights.

Why One-To-One?

  1. You're off the record. In regular group workshops, there are few private moments. This means that when you have the chance to talk to me during group events, you don't get to share the most important information you can: your unique experiences & sticking points that make or break your ability to break through to a higher level of seeing.

Over a private get-together, a photography walk on the street & in the local park & gardens, you can let me know more, & fix more, with more depth & colour (or rich monochrome!) than you can in any group event.

  1. Not-so-small talk. Most group photography discussions tackle a more general subject or sticking point, while mentoring relationships are built when people take the time to share and learn more about individual needs. That happens only in one-on-one conversation & work together. Not-so-small talk about passions, challenges, critiques of your work and the other bits and pieces that make your situation unique will exponentially boost your creativity & insight. We won't hold back.

  2. Customized topics. It's your day - together we'll decide what you'll concentrate on. Examples:

• Advanced composition techniques

• Black & White pro

• Developing sensitivity to the qualities of light - natural & artificial

• Critical evaluation of your work

• Photoshop (up to CS5)

• Art and photography - where do they meet for you?

• Creating a simple home studio

• Strategies for stepping out of Routine Seeing TM

... including a wide array of topics surrounding photography, mindfulness, art, awareness and seeing.

  1. 60-days, zero risk. Go through the exercises & materials we cover. Apply what you learn. If you aren't satisfied that we made a significant difference in your photography & seeing, send me a note and I'll gladly send you a full refund.

  2. Personalized follow-up. I'll follow up with you by phone or online meeting twice after a session; it's included in the cost. I want to make sure you can fully implement what we cover so you get maximum benefit from our time & can take real, positive action.

  3. Make an big difference. One-to-one time gives you accelerated learning, 100% focused attention to work out what's holding you back & discuss your work in depth. Have a look at the reviews of our most intensive group workshop to date (https://www.meetup.com/Exploring-Photography-Toronto/events/53657962/) to see what other photographers have to say about working with me... and that's in a small group setting.
