It was a pleasure to share with the EE LA Meetup Group, happy to come back whenever I'm in southern California!

What a great meetup - informative and fun! Thank you to everyone who presented their work. Leslie's talk gave us a great glimpse into the future of Ellis Labs and their level of dedication. Big thanks to Kelly for organizing everything and to Tony and David for providing the snacks and assorted goodies.

Met some great new people, got to know some old people a bit more, talked with the CEO of EllisLab, won a license of Better-Meta, free beer and food from Billiant2... Awesome night! Thanks Kelly for organizing once again!

What a great meetup! Everyone was friendly and the organizer was great. It's going to be hard to beat this one to be honest since the CEO of #eecms was there though, I think Kelly will come through the next time around as well. A nice show and tell, great raffle (I never win) of some great add-ons and one lucky guy who never had used EE before got a free copy direct from the head honcho. The brilliant 2 guys hooked it up with grub and the organization of the raffle. I could go on and on though, you just have to go next time yourself so your not left out again.

Candid talks with the CEO, great show & tell sites, fresh faces, raffle give-a-ways, food and beer... what else could you ask for? Amazing!

I learned more about Ellis Labs tonight hearing Leslie talk for 5 minutes than I ever have reading the blogs/site/etc. Great to hear their goals won't be diverting their attention from the product we all love to use, but rather making it better and allowing them to grow with us.

This was my first time attending, but definitely not my last. Well organized, friendly folk, and beer!

It was so excellent. Was happily surprised at the number of people who attended; THRILLED to discover how many pEEps are in the San Gabriel Valley. Good show n tell, and good to hear from Leslie Camacho, too.

Good stuff! It looks like Expression Engine is the designer/developer friendly alternative to Drupal, and the bigger more serious (dare I say Enterprise?) kin to WordPress. I even snuck in some questions about maintaining back link value (htaccess anyone?). Overall a really great Meetup. Thanks Kelly, the EE team, and Coloft for a great night.

Kelly and crew really delivered. The guys at Brilliant2 brought in food and drink along with $800 worth of EE swag. Leslie Camacho shared a little background on Ellislab and his roll in it along with a short Q&A session. All in all an excellent meet-up.

What a great evening. Thanks to Patrick, Vik and Dave for presenting ExpressionEngine sites. Great job! Also thanks to Leslie Camacho for making it out this way! We had a full house tonight, ran out of seating. Many of us ended up staying until after 10PM talking ExpressionEngine.

Thanks. A little old fashioned sleuthing (look at website, find fone number. dial. talk.) brought me to similar conclusion, Kelly, Tony. See yawl tonight.

Oh, and looked it up on the map. saw that Coloft is around the corner from Bay Cities Deli. Used to walk up there for lunch when I worked at HSC Software on Lincon a bizillion years ago (before it was MetaTools before it was MetaCreations). Hoping maybe that the lovely subs Tony mentioned come from an old fave haunt! :D

Sorry, been buried all day. Coloft is open all day, just let them know you're early for the meetup.

    March 24, 2011

I'm coming from the San Gabriel Valley via afternoon stop in Little Tokyo. I figure I'll be done there before evening rush hour, so I can scoot to Santa Monica 4:30ish. How early can I arrive at Coloft?

Chine in on the message board if you'd like to help out by showing off a site. 5-10 minutes of your time, no pressure, you won't be graded. I promise! http://www.meetup.com/ExpressionEngine-Los-Angeles/messages/boards/thread/10531590
