As you no doubt know, the award-winning documentary "Senna" is coming to Nashville, as one of only 19 cities where it will be shown. In my role at Lane Motor Museum, we have been working with the Belcourt (the theater where it will show) and have some preliminary information for you all. Opening night is Friday, August 19th. Show times and duration of the run are still a bit up in the air. Belcourt staff have been caught off guard by the response from surrounding areas - folks from Atlanta wanting to camp out on the sidewalk for tickets, etc. You know how F1 fans can be! If you haven't heard, it won at Sundance, at the LA Times Film Festival, and showed at Cannes. It is rated 8.8 on IMDB.com, and is the 8th highest ranked movie of any type, and highest rated documentary of all, ever. Anyway,
we are working on some collaborative promotions with them, for both Senna and their ongoing series of Road Films. My question to this group is - would there be any interest in attending the movie as a group, and even possibly doing a "dinner and a movie" combo with a local restaurant that can do deals like this, and seat around 60? If so, let me know - yandolanemotormuseum.org. We don't know yet if we'd try for opening night, or another later in the week. we also don't know what time the showing(s) will be - the Belcourt will not know until the prior Monday. We do know that the run is at least one week, and they can option it for up to three if audience count demands it. Still a lot up in the air, but wanted to get this opportunity out to everyone so you can think about it. David
