3D Printing Monthly

This group is dedicated to 3D printing technologies and design practices, and is open to anyone wanting to learn more about this quickly evolving branch of manufacturing. Our first meeting will begin with an overview on where the industry is now, what is available, and how the group wants to see this Meetup evolve.

With access to some of the area's most exciting and innovative makers, Fab Lab San Diego is your place for regular discussions and demonstrations of extrusion, stereolithography, and inkjet 3D printing. Come network, get help with calibrating your own printer, or simply check out what goes on at the Lab!

@Juan Gutierrez Hmm, the Like button on the design pages at least does something -- it takes you to a page announcing the "Futue" [sic] is here, and wants you to hand over your FB, Google or email, or sign up for an account.

@Graham Wideman I wonder how many votes I lost because PinShape couldn't get the bugs worked out of their site. :-/ Yes, Heart = Like = Vote. I noticed you cannot click the heart icon unless you are on the page for that particular design. Try to load the 4 links I posted and see if you can cast a vote that way. Sorry PinShape made voting so difficult. :-(

@Juan Gutierrez I guess the page where you can vote is here: . The instructions say to vote by liking the entries. Each entry has mystery icons, where I'm assuming the heart one is like? However, clicking that doesn't seem to change the numbers at all. Then there's a two-arrows icon (not sure what that is) and an icon that looks like a comment button, but doesn't do anything. Feel free to shed some light on how this is supposed to work!

    Hi Everyone,
I entered this 3D Printed Kids Toy Design contest at and this week will be open for voting by the users. Winners will be announced Friday, August 8th @ noon. Bonus from the contest: Submitted toy designs will be provided to the brave kids at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to play with! If you could take some time out of your busy day and send me a vote on my designs if you think they are cool, I would be eternally grateful. Just click the heart icon to cast a vote on the designs. I'll bring these toys around next meeting so you guys can see them in person. :-)

I've gotten some notifications for a
"Summer 2014 San Diego 3d Printing Meetup"
    with a location of
    "New School of Architecture
1249 F St, San Diego, CA"

Is this instead of the regular FabLab Meetup?

Or is it unrelated and just happens to be at the same Day & Time?

    Thanks for any clarification!

We are trying to stick to our 3rd Wednesday schedule as it proved to be confusing when we first launched this group. As Eric mentioned, we will synchronize these in the future.
