Water Festival Volunteers Needed!

This is a plea I'm passing along that has nothing to do with the meetup group...

I do some volunteer work for the River Keepers, a group that advocates sustainable, recreational and safe use of the Red River. Each year they do a Water Festival for 3rd and 4th graders, who come and do fun games and experiments to learn about water. Last year I was able to volunteer for this 4-day event, but this year I can't. So, I'm passing along the request to see if anyone can chip in. I had a really fun time last year, and I'm no expert! You just have to take an hour or two to learn a topic and then either teach it or assist someone else who is. The "classes" are about 30 minutes or so and the kids rotate through as they go from "class" to "class."

Here's the official stuff from the River Keepers...

River Keepers needs volunteers to assist with the Red River Water Festival, where 3rd and 4th grade students learn all about water through hands on activities, September 21-24 at the Hjemkomst Ceter. The objective of the festival is to enable students to learn how to gather information needed to make informed decisions about water use and protection, increasing their awareness and appreciation of water resources in our area. Volunteers lead activities, assist with activities, and time the sessions. Volunteer shifts are from 9-11:00 and 12:15 - 2:15. Please contact Christine Laney at[masked] or [address removed] for more information.

If there are any questions you'd like to ask me if you don't want to get up with the River Keepers directly first, feel free to get in touch.
