MBrace is a programming model and cluster infrastructure for effectively defining and executing large scale computation in the cloud. Based on the .NET framework, it builds upon and extends F# asynchronous workflows. In this talk we will be offering a basic walkthrough of the MBrace programming model and tooling.

Eirik Tsarpalis and Jan Dzik will be presenting.

Eirik is a developer with the {m}brace project. His formal background and training is in mathematics and theoretical computer science. He holds a graduate degree in pure mathematics and has spent a year as postgraduate researcher in the Cambridge Computer Laboratory. Before venturing into the world of applied functional programming, he used to study category theory, algebra and decidability theory, areas that he likes to think he is still in touch with.

Jan is a developer with the {m}brace project, and a Phd student at Imperial College, University of London. He has had a long history of developing services and enterprise applications in .NET, before being converted to the functional programming faith. Today he uses F# to tackle the challenging issues of distributed-cloud based computing.
