New York, NYUSA 10013

From Yonkers originally, went to grade school and high school (escaped YO as soon as I could at 20 to live in Inwood.) Have lived all over Manhattan, Queens, and BK for past 14 years.
I have been wanting to enjoy the cultural components of NYC for a long time but life always gets in the way. I do care about advocacy. I am very inspired by all things intellectual. This Meet Up is right up my alley.
Broadway, off Broadway, off off Broadway shows, musical performances, art galleries, museums, volunteering, nerdy and educational scavenger hunts. (I started and haven't had a chance to finish this great book about the history of New York. This city holds so many stories that are often lost in the bustle of its breakneck speed! If we could somehow incorporate games with trivia and NYC history, it could be pretty cool and fun! http://www.amazon.com/Inside-Apple-Streetwise-History-York/dp/141658997X)
Wrong person to ask: I am a huge animal lover of all kinds. I was a cat lover first because I love their independence and unapologetic jerkiness. (When they show you affection, they really mean it, and no, they are not only trying to just get food!) However, I developed an allergy in my early teens, presumably to save me from becoming the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons. I am doting owner of an English bulldog who I adore because she is also unapologetically jerky and unbelievably ridiculous. But I love all kinds of dogs and would have a raccoon, an otter, a wombat, a koala, a wallabee, a platypus, and a lemur as pets if it was legal.
I work too much and don't enjoy or celebrate this city as much as I should. This is a brilliant idea!
