Bass Hall - the music of Queen

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is putting on a 1-night show with a 50-piece orchestra and a rock band. Obviously there is no one like Freddie Mercury, but this could be a lot of fun. Show starts at 8 and decent seats (Lower Gallery) are just $35 each.

This was fantastic! I had an incredible time. I do not remember when I have been surrounded with such wonderful music and people. Rob definitely deserves a hands up for pulling this together. Our seats were fabulous. The acoustics were terrific. The show was spectacular. Even dinner and dessert were top notch.
Thanks for letting me be a part of this and welcoming me so well to the new people I met.
If there was a 10 out of 5 rating, that is what I would give this meetup

What an amazing night! I've been to a lot of GREAT concerts and this show was one of the very best. Dinner and dessert were top-notch as well, but this evening was also a blast because of those who joined me. I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did! :-)

I am al mi cocina. I can't fond you. [masked]

    March 19, 2013

  • Rob

My #'s[masked] if anyone needs to reach me. If you have time for dinner meet us at Mi Cocina by 6; it's just a block from Bass Hall. Scott & Joy, I didn't reserve tickets for you (Mary, Kevin, Candace and Nancy have claimed the other tickets I bought) and haven't heard from you in a while. Let us know if you're coming!

    March 19, 2013

    • Rob

Excellent. I just called them and they said when we get to the ticket booth I can ask them to arrange your seats next to the ones I purchased. They didn't guarantee that could be taken care of, but they said it's not sold out so we will probably all be able to sit together.

      March 19, 2013

  • Rob

Ok everyone, 25 hours til showtime and I still have 1 spare ticket. I haven't reserved any more after the 5 that I purchased last week.

    March 18, 2013

  • Rob

Nancy, they won't hold one for me unless I pay. Any word yet from your friend?

    March 18, 2013

  • Rob

I've received another email with excellent news: they've had some floor seats open up and want to give them to us at no additional cost. So, of course, I replied with "Okay, we'll take 'em!" Sound good to everyone?

    1 · March 17, 2013

    • Rob

But what if I reserve one (with payment) and your friend can't make it?

      March 18, 2013

    • Rob

I will call them during lunch today and see if they can work with us on that. It looks as if they won't sell out so I bet they'll have seats available.

I found this link to find out about tickets.

I may have someone else that wants to come. Is there a way to get one more ticket or could I pick up mine and try to exchange it and buy an additional one? Let me know.

    March 13, 2013

    • Rob

I don't recall the website showing whether seats have been purchased, but we'll be in the Lower Gallery, Row C, seats 22-26 if you can find out if the adjacent spots are still available.

OK, admit now I am getting excited for it. Cannot resist because it is Bass Hall, will be dressing up so deal with it. :p or :)

    March 12, 2013

    • Mary

I don't get to really dress up often, so since it is Bass Hall, why not? (for me) No pressure on anyone else. :)

I'm coming straight from work and it's not a Friday (jeans day) so I'll be in business casual, maybe with a tie maybe not.

I don't work that day, so I would like to get to the restaurant by 6. For those who live in this area (Kevin, Mary), feel free to stop at my house and I'll drive us downtown. Just let me know if that works for you.

I got your gas money right here. :o)

      Sounds like a plan!

You will all be pleased to know that, according to an email I just received from the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Scaramouche will do the fandango. :-)

    Rob,
If you have not counted me in for a ticket, please count me in. I can pay you ahead with paypal or give you the money when I see you. You said the people that lived near you could meet up at your place. Where do you live? I live in Mansfield.

    March 5, 2013

    • Rob

No hurry, just pay when we meet for dinner or at the show. I live on the far north side of Fort Worth.

      March 5, 2013

  • Rob

Okay everyone, I've purchased 5 tickets. A small service charge was applied to each, so the cost per person is $38. Apparently there was a fire in Bass Hall today but I haven't heard that it was all that bad.

    Rob,
Did you buy a ticket for me? If so thanks. I can send you payment via paypal if you want to send me your email address.

I have 1 unclaimed ticket left.

How about eating at Mi Cocina? It's just a block from Bass Hall.

    March 2, 2013

    • Candace L.

      Yum!!!

      March 4, 2013

    • Rob

Yep, their food's pretty good! And last year when Cheryl and I went to the Dallas International Film Festival screenings at the Magnolia, she had 2 of their Mambo Taxis and wanted to go nighty-night but we still had a movie to watch. Gotta be careful with those things :-)

Thanks Rob. Just wedding minded right now. Ha!

    March 3, 2013

Gotta wedding to attend on 16th. Needvto confirm tickets soon. Can go individually and tks for letting us know about the performance.

    February 27, 2013

    • Rob

Just a reminder that this event is not on the 16th so it won't conflict with your schedule re: the wedding.

      March 2, 2013

  • Rob

I want to buy the tickets this weekend. So, I need 5 - for myself, Candace, Kevin, Mary and Nancy, correct?

    March 1, 2013

    • Candace L.

Ill nail whether dudes coming or not...

      March 2, 2013

    • Kevin W.

Rob, I'm definitely in. I will give you $35 even if I can't make it, guaranteed (but I should be able to make it).

  • Rita R.

Do we all want to get together before or after?

    February 27, 2013

    • Rob

I say we just meet near the ticket booth. Otherwise, yes, I'm up for meeting somewhere downtown to eat before the show.

      1 · February 27, 2013

Would love to go, just holding off on RSVPing till I know what is going on with potential employment hours. When is the latest I can RSVP? Are we buying tickets as a group or how does this work?

    February 26, 2013

    • Mary

      count me in :)

      February 27, 2013

    • Rob

      Yeah? Okay, cool!

      February 27, 2013

  • Kevin W.

I'm just a sucker for Bass Hall and symphonic music.

    1 · February 27, 2013

  • Nancy P.

Let me know if anyone wants to try to put up posters for the event for free tickets. I am going to see what I can do. I used to do this for the symphony years ago for free tickets.
