Fort Worth Gay Pride Parade

2012 is the second year that this parade will be going through downtown Fort Worth! There are 44 entries; they expect 3,500 people along the parade route. For the first time, the Fort Worth police will be along the route to demonstrate the city's endorsement of this celebration.

PLEASE INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW to participate or line the streets! We can make a huge difference in Tarrant County by supporting this event. (In contrast, the Dallas parade had over 100 entries and over 35,000 observers. In the rain!)

We will, once again, use Randy Word's truck as a support vehicle. Plan to park in the Intermodal Transportation Center (http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=am/am2Station/Station_Page&code=FTW). We will run shuttles from there to our staging area starting at 10:15 a.m.; the shuttles will stop at 11:15. You must arrive at our staging spot by 11:00 a.m; the parade itself is from noon to 1:00 p.m.

There is a Street Festival after the parade, featuring pay-your-way beer, food, and other fun stuff. This festival will be within just a few blocks of the Intermodal Transportation Center; therefore, there will be no shuttles after the parade.

Bring cash for parking (organizers said it may cost $3 to $5 dollars), beer, food, and anything else we might all opt to do after the festival.

BRING IT to FORT WORTH!

Greg, from the Metroplex group will be helping load the shuttles. You can't miss him... He is 6'2'' with long, curly red hair in a ponytail. The shuttle is a pick-up truck.

WEATHER ALERT: Saturday is supposed to have a high of 57 degrees. Dress appropriately. There is also a 20% chance of rain.

Reminder: We cannot hand out anything at this parade. No animals (including dogs on leashes) are allowed. No operational gas masks, either. And, sadly, Fort Worth has more "modesty" rules than Dallas.
