FULLY BOOKED: Pop up: Oswaldo Oliva at Carousel

Details

Fully booked....

I must still be high on the excellent Synaesthesia pop up experience from last night and I managed to find one more free date in my diary to accommodate this as the pop up is only open for 2 weeks ... but here's another pop up at Carousel London (http://www.carousel-london.com/home.html) and here are the details from the website:

"Oswaldo Oliva is a dreamer. One taste of his Carousel menu and you'll soon see what we mean…

He spent two years at El Celler de Can Roca (no. 2 in the World's 50 Best Restaurants - three Michelin stars) before becoming an integral part of the R&D kitchen at Mugaritz (no. 6 - two stars) where he sought 'ways of bringing food culture to the table in the clothes of great technique and flavour'.

The results? Well, you'll just have to wait and see… His approach to food is driven by harmony and the use of texture as a strong contrast, using vegetables as a canvas for concentrated flavours and a little bit of science to play around with his diners' expectations. Take, for example, beguiling dishes like 'fossilised orange and worm salt', 'langoustines, verbena and chicken emulsion' or 'nasturtium pods, pink pepper and peach' and you start to get the picture… Oswaldo will be bringing a tantalising glimpse of Mexico with him to Carousel for the first two weeks of July, before returning home to Mexico City to open his own restaurant, LOREA ('flower' in Basque - a nod to his Mugaritz roots). Book now while you still can…"

The sitting we will attend with the group is Friday 10 July at 7.30pm for a 4 course surprise menu costing £35 (plus £2 booking fee levied by Carousel). Good news - they cater for pescatarians and vegetarians!

I would suggest everyone books their own ticket using this form (http://www.carousel-london.com/booking_oliva.html#services). At the end of the form there is a box to let them know you're with my group (Malti Shah). You can also let them know about any dietary requirements using the booking form. They are now fully booked, so we are a group of 11.

There is a normal bar service to order drinks on the night and a service charge will be added (based on the price of the food AND drinks). Please bring cash to sort out bills that would be appreciated as 11 people waiting to use the card machine could put a downer on the end of a hopefully good evening.
