I have access to heavy machine tools Birmingham Mill/very large lathe and I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous LOL. I have built a Rostock Max kit and am in the process of modifying it by building my own all metal hot end with monolithic heat block and lots of cooling fins. I have a talent for solving difficult problems and I have taught myself how to read electronic schematics and layouts. Rebuilt a Fender silverface tube amp and turned it into a blackface complete with a AA864 point to point board etc. It already had most of the right cosmetics when I bought it, but the AA371 board was not all that great sounding. I want to be able to scan 3d objects (I have the hardware and I think I have the software correctly installed, but I still don't know how to scan with it). I want to design and eventually market my designs for ordinary consumer goods or as an alternative for the public being forced to buy some poorly constructed plastic trinket from an OEM manufacturer.
I met Austin and a few others at an open night a few thursdays ago. Great bunch of guys.
