Come meet the makerspaces of the Ferguson Library and the makers of Stamford on the library plaza! You can sample virtual reality, learn about 3D printing, talk to a podcaster, discover the art of sculpting in polymer clay, play with little robots, jam on the library's guitars, and generally see what the makerspaces have to offer. We'll be right around the corner from the Arts & Crafts on Bedford festival!

(If the weather is unkind, MakeFest will take place inside the Ferguson Library.)

MakeFest Special Events!

1 pm: PANCAKE BOT!

It’s a 3D printer...and it makes breakfast! This machine combines computer technology and buttery batter to create pancakes in various shapes: rockets, astronauts, even William Shakespeare. Come see the future of brunch in action. (plaza)

2 pm: GREEN SCREEN!

Hollywood uses green screens (and special effects wizardry) to put movie stars in all kinds of places: the moon, the Death Star, distant jungles. Now you can put yourself into just about any background you can imagine with the help of the library’s own green screen! And we’ll e-mail the images right to you! (lobby)

3 pm: SPHERO ROBOT!

It looks kinda like a cue ball, but it’s really a robot -- and you can control it! Come see Sphero roll around on command, and maybe take a turn piloting it yourself. (3rd floor Wonder Lab)

4 pm: DRONE DEMO!

Drones are everywhere, including the library. (They might soon be delivering your pizza.) Come to our auditorium and get a look at these little flying machines as they whirr through the air! (3rd floor auditorium)
