The world of science has changed. Information is more dynamic, fluid, and accessible. Ideas can go from the kitchen to the production floor within days. Students today think of time in nanoseconds not hours, months or years. The challenge for educators in K-12 is to keep pace with today's innovation activities and develop high impact people while working in a bureaucratic system.
In this presentation, you will hear about an innovative program called Ecotek Lab that is changing the landscape of STEM. The topics to be discussed include balancing curriculum standards with performance standards; understanding how to share authority within an organic learning environment; understanding how Wall Street is Linked to Main Street , and implementing staff development strategies to support innovation based learning STEM.
