CQDF Montreal FileMaker Conference Preview

This month we're back at the Yellow Griffin in the west end and we've got a preview of two sessions from the CQDF FileMaker Conference in Montreal at the end of May, with a special bonus for Torontonians: we'll be speaking in English!

Beatrice Beaubien will be presenting part of her talk entitled FileMaker: A Significant Asset in Delivering Quality Care in Hospitals. An excerpt: FileMaker fills an important need in hospitals. In these highly regulated environments with large data silos, easily adaptable databases oriented to workflow are essential and FileMaker provides this nimble development capability...

Alexis Allen will be presenting some of interesting morsels from her Design Patterns presentation. Design Patterns are ways of solving common design problems, or general approaches to solutions that can be employed again and again.

Doug Gardner will be presenting solutions to some common development problems developer's face from his Developer's Toolbox session. Getting around in layout mode when you've got a huge number of layouts is a huge pain. There's a cure for that. Getting around permissions issues in a locked-down, multi-file solution is a huge pain. There's a cure for that, too.

Come out, learn some new techniques, and make some FIleMaker friends. Everyone is welcome. We'll stay after the meeting for drinks and food at the bar.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
