Film fans are socialites!

Hi all - I've opened up the Film Fans group to listing general social events as well as watching films.

I'm going to run film events in the same way as before, but in addition if you want to run or suggest a social event then I'll list it here. For instance, I'll be listing the "Cafe Scientifique" events when they start up. This is partially to fill the social vacuum left by Purely Social not being very active at the moment.

Listing of scoial events will work like this: you should have a date and venue in mind (not just a vague idea that you'd like someone to run something) and you have to be sure that you (or some other named person) will be there to co-ordinate others coming along.

You can suggest an event in order to find out if there's anyone else interested in going along - could say something like "I'll go to this event if there's at least 2 others signed up to coming 3 days before the event and if not then it will be cancelled". That will only work for events which don't require buying tickets a while in advance.

I'm happy to help out by collecting payments for tickets etc through this site.

Let me know what you think, or if you'd like something listed.
