No films, but come see my show!

Oli S.
Group Organizer
Reading, GB
Hi all,

Sorry I won't be listing any films for the next month or so, because I'm busy weekends all through August.

However, I'm happy to list films if others want to go along. Send me a film, a date, and a venue (which could be the film group at the university!) and I'll stick it on the calendar, but I won't be organising ticket sales or coordinating meetings or meals. It will be interesting to see how this goes, changing the system for a month.

One of the reasons I'm so busy is because I'm rehearsing for a comedy sketch show! It's a hour and a half of comedy sketches and songs written and performed by a theatre group I'm in, "The Reading Berks", on stage in London 18th to 21st August.

"Join Jonathan Woss and Davina McCool at the prestigious SHAFTA awards ceremony 2010, as the who's who of D-list celebrities struggle with their pride, nerves and valium. Find out who wins the nice 'n' shiny trophies symbolising public acceptance and outstanding achievement. Yes, who is worthy of a SHAFTA? With nomination categories including 'Most hirsute talk show host', 'Best celebrity death' and 'Who my mum fancies off the tele, no not him, the other one.' "

See more details at http://thereadingberk... and you can book tickets at http://www.londonfest...

You're all invited to come see it.

Thanks Oli,

As a reply on the subject of organizing something for August and as the Reading Film Theatre is not showing anything at the moment (we must wait for the beginning of University term to see the next list of films!), what about having a look at the South Hill Park Film program? http://www.southhillp...

Of course the venue is a bit awkward to get to with public transport. However, I guess that if enough of us are going, we could organize some lifts to the venue? The program is usually interesting as they show films that the multi-cinemas do not usually risk to show.
