Employers\recruiters meet excellent software developers (FREE event)

Hey everyone,

Having hosted our first successful meetup, we're pleased to announce that we'll be hosting a second FREE meetup on July, 2nd. This time we've managed to secure the famous Google campus venue near Old Street. It's a quiet, spacious venue.

  • We're redoubling our efforts to ensure established companies attend the event.
  • We'll be introducing a skills sticker system so it'll be easy to identify and match up skills required by employers to skills offered by candidates.
  • They'll be a presentation from employers looking for candidates and from candidates offering their skills.
  • We're currently looking for a drinks sponsor.
  • Visit campuslondon for more details about the venue.

Some more info for first time visitors:

London has one of the top 5 largest pools of tech talent in the world. Having attended many meetups hosted by the fantastic VBUG and Skillsmatter enterprises, we've seen the breadth and depth of local tech talent.

Europe and the world comes to London to set up companies and to find work, our meetup will help keep this engine of innovation roaring.

Please join us on the 2nd July, here's what you can gain:

Tech wizards (Job seekers):

  • Meet face to face with recruiters and employers based in London
  • Exchange contact details with interested parties
  • Bring along copies of your CV to hand out
  • We'll have a 5 minute talk on how to present yourself when meeting recruiters and employers

Tech players (Employers and recruiters):

  • Save yourselves hours on the phone
  • Meet enthusiastic, bright developers and technologists
  • Collect CV's from candidates you've met face to face
  • Bring along plenty of business cards

The event will be well organized, each candidate\employer\recruiter will wear a label clearly showing their name, company name, skills they are looking for\offering, so please fill in your questions.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Am looking forward to the next of these. We're a London startup seeking talented and passionate PHP / Zend Framework and C++/3D developers for our growing team. The project is very exciting. If interested, drop me a line: seena[at]3dpartsource[dot]com .

David's organisation was good, despite a last minute room change, and people mixed well. A few recruiters, a good number of interesting and high quality businesses and some high quality techies. Colour coded badges with icons to help spot who was who.

It was a nice venue to find a startup to join!

I think that David has put on a great event, and considering he isn't even 'actively' in the market at the moment, such selfless acts deserve all the praise you can give.

The coding systems for attendees were well thought out (red for recruiters made me laugh straight away!) and made it easy to identify the people you needed to speak to.

I think the idea behind this group is great. Credit to David and Nish for organising, there should be more of an effort to pool talent in London.

Personally, my skill set was slightly outside of what was being sought after, so my experience wasn't all great (hence only 3 stars). I'm fully aware that this is down to me though and shouldn't be viewed negatively by others wishing to attend future events.

My browser window was not full screen, and so I had to zoom out to see the green arrow. I only found that after the event! On my screen there was just the one POI over the LSE. BTW, the other map link that was sent out by Email was even worse. Try clicking on it, all you get is the whole of London with POIs on every shop that sells maps!
Ever thought of switching to OSM?
Anyhow, it was a shame to have missed it. Maybe next time.

When I click on the map it's fine. Admittedly there are about 1,000 points of interest on there, but the green arrow is pointing to the correct address.

Sorry, but your map link is rather broken.
It took me to the LSE near Holborn.
No where near the google building!
    A huge wate of time
