Developers, Designers and DBA's CV Showcase (Free)

Hi all,

With our deepest appreciation to you all, it’s amazing how quickly the group has grown, we've almost reached 500 members! With such a considerable group we’re planning to host more specific events for different industries and skills.

For the first of these events we’re hosting a CV showcase on Wednesday, November 7th at 6:30pm. We welcome candidates currently seeking work as developers, DBA’s and designers to present at the meetup for between 5-7 minutes.

The candidate presenter will discuss his\her work experience, challenges and lessons from previous roles and if we have time we’ll do a candidate QA session with questions asked by the audience. They’ll be a projector for the event, so candidates can demonstrate their work.

All presentations will be recorded and posted on our FindATechJobInLondon YouTube channel. This will make a fantastic addition to your CV cover letter!

Direct employers are encouraged to present for 2/3 minutes to advertise their vacancies, which we'll also record, plus we’ll have networking time after the presentations.

The venue has not been organised yet, so offers to host the event at a quiet site in central London would be appreciated, we’re also seeking sponsorship to pay for refreshments.

We don’t imagine the event will be on the same scale as our last event were we had 192 RSVP’s which was a surprisingly fantastic turnout, although we could be wrong and possibly there could be even more attendees, but we’re aiming for between[masked] attendees, please bear that in mind if you are offering space.

It’s only left for us to say we look forward to seeing you at our next meetup!

All the best,

David and Nish (The organisers)

Hi Deepthi,Have you got a StackExchange profile? Do you have any projects on GitHub? Have you contributed to any open source projects where your work can be seen? Can you create some useful scripts and reports that others can use, and give you some endorsements and kudos?

Lively, informal evening with ample opportunity to network. Warm welcome from the organisers. Maybe allow the shout outs to stand on a raised platform, so the audience can see. The colour coded stickers on our name badges helped.

19% of tutoring in NY is for developers... we're getting similar requests in London because it's not taught in schools and kids want to learn it... if you know any developers who would like to earn some more through teaching please let me know.

We're on a mission: for every child who pays we give tutoring to a child who can't afford it.

(Oh, if you love teaching and share the vision, we'd love help building the in house team as well!)
    Thanks,

Thanks David - love them. Hi Tim, we had a request from a student wanting to learn C. The NYers get asked for everything particularly intros to Java, HTML & PHP. Then there are the generic requests where kids want to make their own games and hack smart phones... know anyone who might be interested?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
