FWYB is a small group of dedicated writers working toward the same goal - completing their novel or short story. This is not a formal workshop, however, I have found that when I am in the workshop environment, meeting regularly, accountable for producing pages to bring to the table for review and editing, I see more progress in my work.
Our goal is to bring at least 1, but no more than 3, 12pt, double spaced page(s) to the table each meeting. Please have enough copies for 5-7 people. Most writers know what it's like to hit a wall in your work. Come to the table anyway. You may hear something that unlocks your creativity.
A group of your peers, all willing to share their unpolished work, will critique the piece. Writers come to the table with the understanding that this is an unfinished product and requires a different review perspective. You will hear your words read aloud and get the unbiased feedback that family and friends may not be able to offer.
It is my goal to foster a comfortable, positive environment for aspiring writers to share their work and move their projects forward. As fellow writers, we respect the intellectual property of others and view each piece as copywritten work.
If you are in need of a forum to share your work as it develops, moral support, and constructive criticism from people who understand the writing process, Finish Writing Your Book is the group for you.
I look forward to creating with you soon. Be motivated. Stay dedicated. Keep Writing!
A word from the original founder of Finish Writing Your Book:
I will continue as Organizer of "Finish Writing Your Group." Ms. Sarah Gil and Bill Probst are still active and willing members. I think it is a worthwile endeavor to continue meeting and to see this group grow and blossom in the near future. Thanks,
