Sharing Our Christmas Spirit and Cheer at the Retirement Center

Sharing the Holidays with our seniors...

This is a great opportunity for you and your children to serve together during the holiday season. Therapy dogs* are welcomed.

Call for Volunteers

Participation: 50 volunteers are needed to visiting, decorating, and caroling at or partner senior centers.

We will meet at 9:00 AM to share fellowship and make cards and decorations, and enjoy refreshments together prior to caravaning over to the centers. The caravan will leave at Prince of Peace at 10:00 AM.

The event will run from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Volunteers will meet at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church conference center building 9 (campus map (http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/e/4/8/highres_52728712.jpeg)) center at 9:00 AM to organize and make decorations prior to caravaning.

Special Instructions

Children of all ages are welcome. Your child can also bring gifts for the residents like drawings or colorful handmade cards. Young children rarelyreact negatively to nursing home residents, but teenagers and older children may need time and your help to adjust. Pets should want to visit with people, get along with children and other animals, be obedient, even-tempered, good-natured, and able to accept clumsy handling by strangers.
