Backpack about 20 miles in the Conecuh National Forest. Mary McKinley (850) 598-3603 and Eva Bailey (850) 862-7071 are the event hosts and will be glad to answer any questions. Nice hike through our closet National Forest.

This hike will be an adventure! We will not be on the Conecuh Trail, but hiking some woods roads that are closed to vehicles. There may be bushwhacking involved and we will be finding our own campsites. Bring a compass, phones won't always have a signal!

Through its acerage, hikers will walk through a coastal plain pine forest of towering longleaf pine, past cypress swamps and pitcher plant bogs, and winding creeks and blue spring ponds.The forest is home to many forms of plant and wildlife including the rare red cockaded woodpecker.
