Visit 13 named springs on a beautiful 3 day Suwannee River paddle.

Friday morning we all meet at Lafayette Blue Springs State Park near Mayo, FL for our launch. We paddle 7.5 miles to Peacock Springs River Camp for our overnight stay. There is an optional 2-3 mile hike (round trip) to see Peacock Springs. Bring sneakers or hiking shoes.

Saturday morning we rise & shine to paddle 10.3 miles to Adams Tract River Camp for our 2nd night stay. Along the way we pass Suwannee River Rendezvous (Convict Springs) which is a perfect place for lunch and visit to the camp store.

Sunday morning we paddle 9.5 miles to Branford (Ivey Memorial Park) for our shuttle back to our cars at Layfayette Blue Spr.

There will be a paid shuttle for drivers only from Branford to L.B.S to retrieve cars and return to the take out point. Fees should be about $10 per driver. All the "plus ones" will stay with the boats.

Paddle is all downstream. You are required to carry a PFD and whistle. You must carry all your food, camping gear & safety equipment in your boat and to be self-reliant. You must take precautions to keep all your gear dry. River Camps have water, bathrooms, firewood, ice, pavilions and of course the screened camping platforms. Both overnight locations have stairs to climb and Adams Tract has little to no beach for kayaks depending on water level. (You either carry them up or you leave them in the water tied to the stairs)

This is not a difficult trip but you must be OK with the mileage and be prepared for all weather conditions. You need to be in generally good health. Make sure all your gear fits in your boat beforehand with some test packing. We all try and help each other out.

There are shoals in a couple spots along the way and their length & intensity varies with water level.

Please, No pets or children on the trip.

You will need cash for the shuttle & state park entrance and optionally for firewood or stuff at the SR Rendezvous.

By participating in this kayak trip you assume all risks and responsibility for your personal health and safety. It is important that each participant be prepared. Feel free to ask questions...

Adams Tract River Camp - no beach. Be prepared to carry up your kayak, anchor it in the water or tie it to a rock. Long kayaks become a liability at this point with the switchback stairs and railings.
