Have you ever performed music in front of an audience (not counting Karaoke or social jams)?

Yes, in a choir and with the St Pete Shanties.

All enthusiastic participants are welcome, but we need harmonica, banjo, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, concertina, accordian and other keyboards, upright bass, wind instruments, etc. Would you be willing to play any of these at our gatherings?

If I get back to the area and attend a SOJO, maybe I'll bring my autoharp or mountain dulcimer.

Who's your #1 favorite folk or folk-rock performer?

If I had to name one, Bob Dylan. But let's not overlook Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Simon and Garfunkel, Kate Wolf, Shirley Collins, Dougie McLean, Richard Thompson, Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, etc.

What are some of your favorite folk or folk-rock songs?

Dylan's If You See Her Say Hello. Steeleye Span's Lovely on the Water. Simon and Garfunkel's Only Living Boy in New York. Judy Collins' Who Knows Where the Time Goes. Neil Young's Ohio. Shirley Collins' Murder of Maria Marten. So many more.

Word is out about our group on Meetup, the Broward Folk Club, various local papers,, Facebook, Craigslist, the church, and flyers around town. How did you hear about us?

Um, all of the above. But some of those sources are now, as I edit this in 2013, obsolete.

I had a great time with the 1st two SOJO sing/jam groups I started up - this one and the original one in the DC suburbs. I've moved on from both places and currently organize a SOJO in St Pete, but I'm overjoyed the first 2 are still alive and well!
