You can read all about each get-together on the web site of your club, Gardeners of Southwest Florida. We meet on the first Sunday of every month in the gardens of volunteer club members to discuss gardening in this semi-tropical environment. Get full details of each meeting by clicking on these links:
Sunday, November 11: Discuss tropical gardening in the group leaders' screened-in garden enclosure: http://meetup.com/FloridaGardners/events/86024862
Sunday, December 2: Florida Gardening 101: a Beginner's guide: http://meetup.com/FloridaGardners/events/89453882
Sunday, January 6: Guided tour of garden & nursery, with plant raffle & plant exchange: http://meetup.com/FloridaGardners/events/88928002
We're pleased to see how enthusiastically this club has grown since its revival. After a year with no meetings scheduled, we became its new leaders at the beginning of October, and promoted new memberships. There were 35 members when we started, and since last month we've added 33 more members, for a current total of 68 singles and couples. We encourage you to tell your gardening friends and neighbors about the group and its free membership and free meetings with free refreshments.
Members who attend meetings will be given membership cards with their names imprinted on the cards. These cards can be shown to get discounts and other perks at each of the nurseries and other businesses listed on the club's web site at http://meetup.com/FloridaGardeners/sponsors/#membership-perks.
We look forward to seeing both new and old members at each of the upcoming meetings. On each event's page on the web site, you can let us know if you can attend by simply clicking Yes or No in the RSVP section. Dozens of members have indicated they'll attend this Sunday's meeting, so you can meet them there.
