Join us for all-you-can-eat-pizza and all-you-can-drink beer for three hours!  Not only will you have a great time, but you’ll be saving our wonderful Macy girl!

Macy has been waiting for her forever home for a very long time!  In September 2013, Macy’s foster arrived home from work and found Macy lying on the floor, paralyzed in a pool of her own drool.  Her eyes appeared to follow Kelly but her entire body was limp.  Macy was rushed to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital where she did poorly on her neurological exam and, upon first look, the neurologists believed she may have had a seizure.  The next morning, Macy had an MRI that identified a mass in her cervical spinal canal which was compressing her spine.  The imaging characteristics were consistent with an extruded intervertebral disk with concurrent hemorrhage.  The neurologists originally recommended surgery.  Macy was placed on pain medication and antibiotics and given a lot of attention and love.  The morning of surgery, the neurologists noticed a slight improvement and suggested surgery be put off for a day.  The next morning there was even more improvement and so it was a wait and see.  The neurology department at Metro closely monitored Macy and worked with her daily.  Macy has always been a strong-willed dog and her will to improve after this event is no different.  (She’s one tough cookie!)

Macy remained at the hospital for approximately two weeks and received daily physical therapy.  She slowly began to move her legs, walk with help and, by the time she left the hospital, she was walking on her own, although wobbly.  The costs of Macy’s hospitalization, tests, including MRI and blood tests, medication and therapy have been extensive (approximately $5,500).  We have already raised approximately $1,700 but have a long way to go to cover the costs.

NOT ABLE TO ATTEND? Please consider donating towards Macy’s medical expenses and aftercare at: purchase an awesome t-shirt.  100% of the funds from the sale of the tees will be applied to Macy’s medical expenses!

Please continue to pray for Macy’s full recovery and help this special girl!
