Wild edibles walk

Weeds to Feed

10 plants, 10 people

A guided and interactive edible plant identification walk! Each person that joins this event will be given a plant name and photograph. As we come upon your plant on our journey, you can introduce yourself, then introduce the plant by name. If you choose to do some research on the plant, its features, its uses, facts about it, etc., to share with group, that would be great, but not necessary. The goal is to have 10 people and 10 plants.

Associating fresh faces with each new plant will help with memory retention and by using the group sharing format we can experience a different way to relate to each other and with the plants. By keeping the group small we will be able to have more time for questions and examining our new food friends. A handout will be provided for each person so you won't have to fuss over taking notes.

Once 10 people confirm to attend, the walk will be full. The names of first 10 people will be posted as attendees in the comments below. A waiting list will be also be added, if needed. If response is high, we will add new dates and times - and may even make it a regular monthly thing at different locations in the area.

We will meet inside the Co-op at 5:30 and start the walk outside at six. Rain date and/overflow will be on the 20th.

After this walk, you may be putting weeds in your salad instead of in the compost bin.

Hi Eric. Thanks for getting back to me. I think it's best I come another time due to time constraints and not having the time to research more about the plant you assigned. I hope to meet you and other members soon. Have fun today everyone!

The plants for Thursday have already been assigned. You can come and still be part of the group. There is also a duplicate walk for Friday if you would like to come to that instead.

Hi. I RSVPed thinking I would be put on a waitlist, but I was actually placed for attending. I was wondering why it was still accepting people when it is suppose to be maxed out at 10. Is it because the organizers aren't including themselves in the search? Or are people allowed to tag along and watch?

We had more then 10 people sign up for this meetup on Thursday. A duplicate walk has been scheduled for Friday. If Friday would work better for you please decline the Thursday meetup and sign up for the Friday one. The Friday meetup will be closed after the first 10 people sign up.

Great response to this meetup! We are maxed out at 10. If we can get more responses we will do the same walk the following day at the same location and time.
