Ya'll and me at Robert Lee for some plant ID

Looks like the City Paper drummed up some new members. Thanks for joining and welcome! I can't wait to meet some of you and share some information.

I went for a little walk on the new boardwalk at Robert Lee and found some plants that we haven't gone over before. As always, there will be some repeats. Below is a list of some of the plants I found. If you intend to come out to this meetup please choose a plant from the list below, note it in the comments and come prepared to tell us about it. I done a little trickery this time and put the Latin names. The ones with the Genus and no species I need the most help with.

Berberis

Fallopia japonica

Ilex opaca

Pinus strobus

Urtica dioica

Arctium

Stellaria media

Rumex crispus

Cirsium

Typha latifolia

Platanus occidentalis

Verbascum

We will meet at the beginning of the board walk at the Falls Rd light rail park and ride. If you happen to know that the date I have chosen has an event that may otherwise occupy a majority of the parking please let me know and I'll change the date. This walk is free of charge, donations are accepted. Let it be known that some of these plant ID's I did could be wrong, those that know me know I'm a bit of a chucklehead.

Hi Eric, I've looked up the common names on your list. Have mostly busied myself with native woodland flowers... Will try to bone up on a few and their species for Sunday. Didn't know some on your list or parts of them were edible... Really looking forward to learning more.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
