Let's explore the LBJ Grasslands!
We're exploring because I've never been there before. Dual event with "We Hike" group.

Meeting Time: 9:30 AM meeting. Hiking begins approximately at 10:00AM

*Special: 1. Pack a snack with your water 2. Wear BRIGHT or Orange shirt (Hunting season is still ongoing)

Some instructions/agenda:
1. Meet at the McDonald's Parking Lot, to carpool b/c it's $4 per car, and being that I've never been to this Park, I prefer we all get lost together or find the Park together
2. The Hike will begin about 10.
3. We'll hike for 3 hours
4. Return to McDonald's to pick up cars.
5. LUNCHTIME! We can scoop out some local dives for a late lunch, 1:00PMish

LBJ Trail System

TADRA Point Trailhead Located south of Cottonwood Lake along FS Road 900, TADRA Point Trailhead is at the confluence of the five loops that comprise the 75-mile LBJ Multi-Use Trail System.

The trailhead was constructed through the volunteer efforts of local equestrian groups and is used throughout the year as headquarters for various non-commercial group events, including equestrian endurance rides.

Facilities at the site include two accessible restrooms, accessible horse ramp, 20 parking spurs, 6 pull through and 10 stock tethers. Stock water is available.

Day-use fee is $4 per vehicle per day.


From Decatur, follow FM 730 north 10 miles to
CR 2461, turn left and at the fork; turn right on CR 2560, proceed 3 miles and turn left on FS Road 900. TADRA Point Trailhead is on the right at 2 miles.
