Calling all moms who fear their babysitters turn on the TV as soon as they walk out the door!
Creative Sitters, a creative arts education babysitting service is an NYC-based company that uses arts activities to promote learning, exploration and growth at home. They are superb at helping to find the me-time that moms really need, and they use a pairing system matching kids to a specific sitter taht best meets the needs of the child. Parents have the opportunity to meet sitters during speed sitter events or Creative Sitters will recommend a sitter for parents.
Renee Pena began babysitting as a part-time job while working at a number of arts-based kids organizations including El Museo del Barrio, City Lights Youth Theater, Notes in Motion and Discovery Programs. Parents quickly took note of Pena's unique approach to babysitting and she was soon overbooked turning away childcare opportunities. Once Pena developed a roster of sitters, Creative Sitters was born.
"We have an extensive network of sitters that each have a unique specialty. Some of our sitters are experienced in dealing with separation issues while others focus on academic needs," says Pena. "Our mission at Creative Sitters is to create the ideal sitter and child match that will best help support the child's growth."
Creative Sitters conducts background checks on all of their sitters and requires multiple references; all sitters are certified in First Aid and CPR. Check out membership fees (starting at $35/mo) and more information at CreativeSitters.org.
