Free Showing of "Grown Ups" and "Playing for Keeps" at my place in South Boston!

  • Jul 7, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This week we're changing the schedule, because "Grown Ups 2" will be screened on July 10th at 7pm in Boston. So, we'll watch "Grown Ups" first, starting somewhere between 7:15 and 7:30. And then if people still want to see a second movie, we'll watch "Playing for Keeps."

FOOD: We'll meet at McGoo's Pizza at 7 pm (around the corner from where I live), order food, and bring it back to my place. If you miss us at McGoo's, my address is

311 Silver St (Rear), South Boston MA 02127.

If you don't want pizza or Italian food, there is a Chinese and Mexican place next door to McGoo's. There's also a Dunkin' Donuts and a P S Gourmet (if you prefer cafe-style coffee) in sight from the McGoo's entrance.

Snacks are always welcome. I'll provide the TV and chairs!

TRANSPORTATION: If you're coming from downtown, take the Red Line to Broadway station, and then take the 9 bus towards City Point (or walk the 12 minutes up West Broadway). Or you can pick up the 9 bus at Copley and take it all the way. The 9 bus stops right in front of McGoo's Pizza, at "Perkins Square," the intersection of Broadway and Dorchester St. I live behind McGoo's on Silver St. Don't ring the doorbell. Go through the white gate on the right of the house, down the short alleyway, and my door is on the left. You'll see a Meetup sign.

If you want to drive, there is street parking along Broadway St and Dorchester St, and there is a small public lot next to Bank of America diagonally across from McGoo's.

Please feel free to recommend newer, popular movies.

Sounds like a great movie lineup, but did you mean "Here Comes the Boom" rather than "Here Comes the Book"?

    June 21, 2013

    • Gary B.

Actually, no... It's a spin-off, starring Kevin James as a writer who is under a serious deadline... Okay, yes, I meant "Boom" :)
