Have you ever imagined yourself contributing to Free Software & Open Source projects...but didn't know where to start?

Ever wondered how Wikipedia got so huge so quick? Ever marvelled at the incredible capacity of software projects to move forward so fast but struggled to grasp how it's even possible? Ever wanted to be part of a community of movers and shakers but felt like you had nothing to offer?

If you've got even a little bit of programming experience YOU DO HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER! And what's more the world needs you to contribute.

We understand how intimidating it can look to get involved in a software project when you're standing on the outside looking in. So our experienced mentors will help get you over that threshold and into sharing what you have to offer by gently showing you how to make simple but meaningful contributions to the free software projects YOU want to support.

Even if you're not an experienced developer yet, you can still make meaningful contributions through bug reporting, testing and documentation, and that gets you in the game. It makes you part of a community of software developers. It makes you a mover and shaker.

Questions you'll have answers to at the end of the day:

• How do I get started contributing to free and open culture?

• What could I possibly contribute?

• How do I find a project and task that suits me?

• Will contributing to free software make me rich and famous?

• How should I behave in free software communities?

• What if I mess up, will people be mean to me if I make mistakes?

• Can I really make a difference?

Come along and make yourself part of the crowd that makes all the cool stuff happen in the world!

What to bring

• A Wifi capable portable computer.

• Your beautiful mind
