For 2 years I was a tour guide with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs (photo). During my tenure I discovered a treasure trove of free and or very cheap events and cultural activities that include circus performances, concerts, lectures, art openings and other activities. Every evening of the week I attend at least one free event picking the most interesting and will pass them along to you at this site.
