App/SaaS Monetization: Subscriptions, Freemium, Premium. With Dell, PwC, NewsiT

About our Meetup | Freemium SF Bay Area

Jason St. Peter of DELL Innovators Credit Fund, Melinda Wittstock of NewsIT, Brian Anderson of DELL, and Amit Dhir of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will present at February's Freemium SF Bay Area Meetup Group on Wednesday, 2/13.

Jason from Dell will discuss Dell’s $100M commitment to entrepreneurs through the Dell Innovators Credit Fund and how this fund can provide Entrepreneurs with the technology resources they need “now” by helping offset upfront cost and conserving critical cash that early stage companies need.

Then our three speakers – Amit from PwC, Brian from Dell, and Melinda from NewsiT, will present app monetization from different perspectives.  Amit, who is the author of The future of software pricing excellence: An Introduction, part of a new series by PwC on the tectonic changes occurring in sw pricing, will give an overview, explain how subscriptions, freemium, and usage-based pricing are being adopted, and provide insight into future directions.  Brian from Dell will give examples of companies moving from license-based software and services to the subscription economy – both as producers and customers.  Melinda from NewsiT will share the decision-making process she is going through as her web/mobile app considers offering a freemium service.

Enjoy networking, hors d'oeuvres and a chance to get your specific questions answered by professionals knowledgeable in app monetization including freemium. We have opportunities for Sponsors and are open to suggestions for speakers & topics. (See below for more information.)

Special Appearance:

Jason St. Peter, Dell Innovators Credit Fund

@jasonstpeter

Jason manages the Dell Innovators Credit Fund and is eager to meet entrepreneurs! This $100M fund has been allocated to startups for the financial and scalable technology resources they need to innovate, bolster speed-to-market, and create jobs. Credit Fund Members receive assistance financing end-to-end, scalable technology solutions in their crucial early and growing stages. Startups that fit the profile are those bringing emerging technologies or products to market whose technology solutions differentiate them from their competition -- Dell can help fill that need. Kachingle (Freemium Meetup organizer | SaaS billing platform), SugarSync (speaker in Dec 2012 | cloud storage), NewsiT (speaker at this event | mobile social media) are examples of Founders Club Members.
