Normally, I wouldn't email out to everyone, but how else will I find out if anyone is interested?
considering taking up dog-walking/ dog check ups/ dog visits as a part
time gig because not only does it sound fabulous to be around doggies
all the time, but I would still have time to pursue my main passion: art
I have been thinking about keeping it small and
specialized to Frenchies and possibly other smooshed face dogs. As a Frenchie
owner I (like all of you) understand first hand the delicate nature of
our little pups, and can recognize the signs of a dog getting
over-heated, or just needing a mid walk break . I would offer
individual, on leash walks, or maybe on leash groupings of up to three
dogs all from one neighborhood or household. I am not in favor of dogs
spending time in a hot car while I drive around and pick up others and I
am not in favor of walking so many dogs that I can't keep track of
everyone's condition. i am not trying to do anything complicated or fancy, just walk dogs.
I was thinking walks would be 45 minute to
an hour in their neighborhood, but if dogs need a shorter walk (say 30 mins) we can obviously arrange for that too.? Upon return from a walk I'll put out a fresh bowl
of water, if you like. At this point prices are negotiable, but I was thinking $18 for a walk.
1/2 an hour long drop ins, where I feed pup,
provide more water, take him/her out for a bathroom break are also an option.
will say now that my only experience working with dogs is with my own,
and that I am not pet cpr certified- yet! I'm going to take the CPR class next month. I'm am not a trainer, although
I have experience with clicker training, and am pro positive
reinforcement. What I can say is that as a Frenchie owner I know that
Frenchies are unique and require unique care.
If anyone is
interested in having their little pooch get on a dog walking regiment
give me (and Betty) a holler!
Also, if anyone has any tips on how
to make this service more fabulous, please don't hesitate to let me
Can't wait to see everyone at the next meetup!
