Spooks, Scandals, and Scoundrels of Greenwich Village for Hallowe'en!

Details

We'll be ending the 2012 season with this ever-popular tour!

Join us on this light-hearted tour that highlights stories of Village hauntings and scandals involving prominent New Yorkers over the past two centuries. Find out about the surprising ghosts that haunt Greenwich Village, plus dastardly acts associated with the jaunty Jimmy Walker, libidinous Stanford White, and infamous Aaron Burr. And what supernaturally-inclined tour could fail to include a nod to the macabre Edgar Allan Poe?

Where to meet: Meet at the southeast corner of Washington Square West (Macdougal Street) and Washington Square North (Waverly Place), just intside of Washington Square Park by the chess tables. Take the R to "8 Street" or A,C,E, B, D, F to "West 4 Street".

When to meet: 3:45 for a 4pm start. I will be holding a sign that reads, "Spooks, Scandals, and Scoundrels"

Fee: $15 cash, exact change appreciated!

The tour will be approximately 2/2.5 hours long. While Friendly Native tours walk rain or shine 99.9% of the time, on rare occasions they will be postponed in cases of what can be deemed dangerous weather, and an email sent out to that effect to all who have registered for the event. Check the weather reports on the day of the tour; if there is a chance of rain, please bring your own umbrella.

The nearest restrooms to this location are the restaurants on 8th Street, like Au Bon Pain and Chipotle; and the Starbuck's near the corner of Waverly Place and 6th Avenue. Please be sure to "take care of things" before the start of the tour!
