Plant Hike with Peter Warner - SATURDAY 19th (Not 17th)

Spend a day of discovering the splendid diversity and ecology of land plants: mosses, ferns, trees, shrubs, and those photogenic wildflowers. Your guide will be Peter Warner, botanical and ecological consultant, teacher, and plant nerd emeritus. Peter leads botanical field trips throughout California, engaging the faithful in the myriad sensual delights of our photosynthesizing phriends -- without whom we would wither away. The pace will be deliberate, with frequent dalliances. Tote eld guides, hand lenses, cameras at your leisure. Children OK with supervision. A plant list for the Sanctuary and environs is available by contacting Peter @ [masked]

Madrone Audubon Program.

Nobody knows more about the plants of Northern California than Peter Warner, but he not only knows them by sight, he knows their names and all their relatives, too. He knows their brothers and sisters and their distant cousins and he shares all his knowledge with a low-key and humorous style that engages everybody from novice to expert. Add in some great weather and quite a few flowers--not necessarily the ones we were looking for, but the ones we found. A lovely day.

Probably 3-4 mile loop around the Mtn, on roads. There are some modest slopes. This route is one was a bit too much for you last spring.

I would like to know the approx. distance of this hike, the nature of the terrain and relative elevation gain. Thanks.
