Thinking of Spring: Building Native Garden Habitats at Home presented by Michael Kopena
It may seem like winter is dragging on interminably, but don’t worry, spring is just around the corner! Chase away winter blues as you plan for spring gardening. We discuss the dangers of gardening with exotics and introduce wonderful native plants you can use at home to create a beautiful escape for your family and a sanctuary for native fauna such as songbirds and important pollinators such as butterflies and honey bees. If time and weather allow we’ll take a walk to examine encroaching invasives and treasured natives present in the Wissahickon Valley.
Space is very limited so registration is recommended to reserve a seat. The Cedars House Café (on Forbidden Drive just below Northwestern Ave at Andorra Rd.). Talks are cancelled if driving conditions are hazardous or if Cedars House Café has to close . Please check the FOW website for updated information.
