Group B:     The Black Dog Group

This group is not yet filled!  If you want to join, please do so!

UPDATE on Black Dog group.  We are going to use a book while going through this workshop.  I have been reading and researching and have found a really great book that will help each of you understand what depression is and how it works and also how to combat it.  The book is "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life"  Daniel G. Amen M.D.   Click on this link and you will find many copies around $4.00.

Please try to have your book before the first meeting and if not, by the second.  Also, if you can't afford the book, just write to me and let me know and I will get you a copy.

Hi Friends,

Because of the number of letters that I received after
sending out the link about “the Black Dog”, I am forming a private workshop
called “The Black Dog Group”.

This will be a PRIVATE workshop held in my home with only 8-10 participants per workshop. Because this is a PRIVATE workshop, I will ask that you please write to me directly at [masked] to sign up for this workshop. If you are comfortable in RSVP’ing on the site, then by all means do so. If
not, just write to me to hold your place.

For those of you who don’t know what “the Black Dog” is,
please click on the link below to watch the short video.

Dealing with depression can be a debilitating thing. I have been there and personally know what
that is like. I am happy to say that I have learned how to beat/control the beast!
Oh yes, it does come back from time to time but I have the upper hand. He only gets me for a day or a few days at a time.

If I can learn this so can you. Please, if you are suffering, don’t go
through this alone. Can’t afford traditional therapy? Here is your answer. You will be among your peers and I will also reach out to professionals in our group to see if someone will want to sit in
and give professional advice. I am not a professional but I can tell you this….learning from others and sharing works. Just having someone hear you works. Learning what others do

If you are not working and simply can’t afford this workshop, not to worry. I will waive the fee. No one needs to know this…just write to me and it stays between you and I. [masked]

Wear comfy clothes, shoes off at the door so make sure you
have socks on or bring your slippers.
Bring a SOFT drink…no alcohol during this event….bring a light snack to
share. I will have water and other
snacks to share.

Are you a survivor of “The Black Dog” attack? If not, you can be! Just sign up.

All donations for this workshop will be donated to the
Lakota Heating Fund.

I am sorry to say that I am again cancelling out on this meetup at the last minute, but I decided that coughing on everyone would probably not be appreciated. Last week I was recovering from H1N1 flu which has now turned into walking pneumonia. While I am on antibiotics, I am still coughing and have the pressure on my chest. I did not know this for sure until this morning. I didn't want to cancel yet again, so I thought I would come even for a little while - not a smart decision.

Since I wouldn't be able to make it on the 8th which I believe is the next meeting, I am pulling out altogether. I am sorry, but I tried. I have been so violently ill for these past two weeks, I need to take care of myself so I can get back to work. I do have the book so I will read it on my own.

    Hi Friends,
I am looking forward to our group again on Saturday. This group is full for new attendees after this week. Any new people have to sign up for group B which is not full. Ewa, you are originally in this group so not to worry. You missed last week but that is okay. We are going to have a good week this week. We are going to talk about the Introduction and the first chapter. After some discussion and before we leave, we are going to watch a short YOU TUBE video. It has some great information. It will give you something to think about and to take home with you.

Anyone needing a book, I have 5 ordered. They won't be in before Saturday but they will be here next week. Don't forget to bring slippers or socks, a light snack...I have water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. No alcohol PRIOR to this workshop please. We want clear minds and thoughts. So, come with a smile on, a hug to give your friends and good positive thoughts that we are working together to make a difference in each of our lives and the lives of our workshop mates. See you on Saturday!
