This is a local Festival that I wanted to put out there for our members to see.
Central Florida’s BBQ Blowout is Central Florida’s newest event! This Florida BBQ Association- sanctioned event will be held at the Oviedo Mall on May 24th and 25th, 2013. BBQ Blowout will not only become a signature event in the community, but it also is for a great cause. Two organizations, the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and HOPE Helps Inc. bring their strengths together and invite you to join in helping our communities.
This Florida Bar-B-Que Association (FBA) sanctioned family-friendly event includes an entire weekend of musical artists, games/rides, business and food vendors, brew and most of all BBQ!
On Friday night at 7:00pm and for just $25 enjoy a Low Country Boil from TJ's Seafood Shack, sampling of craft beer, and a live musical performance – direct from Nashville - Country music artists Steel Magnolia!
Come back on Saturday for free admission all-day festivities, including riding a mechanical alligator… live music and BBQ! Admission to the children's area is $5.

Exciting News: The Central Florida BBQ Blowout is now a World Food Championship Qualifier! The overall winner of the CFBB will be given the golden ticket to the Food Network’s World Food Championships in Las Vegas. The competition is going to be fierce, and the BBQ is going to be delicious!
More Exciting News*: Judging will take place throughout the day and will require the taste buds of more than 70 professional judges. There will be 43 professional barbecue competition teams and 13 'Backyard BBQ' teams.
For the general public, a "people's choice' competition will also take place, allowing guests to give their critiques on the 25 teams participating in this particular event. For $7, participants can taste 25 samples and vote on their favorites.
Looks like while this is a first time event it will be coming back Annually as: "While this is a huge event for the participating teams, it's also huge for the community. Because the FBA has sanctioned this event, no other location within 150 miles of Oviedo is permitted to host a barbecue competition of this magnitude."
