The museum will occupy the 2nd and 3rd floors in Rivergate's architecturally significant Cube - the soaring, six-story atrium recognized as one of the most impressive interior spaces in Tampa. The museum is scheduled to open its first exhibition in the building in March 2012. This highly visible location puts the museum in the core of the Downtown Tampa Arts District.

"The exceptional location and additional exhibition space will be a catalyst for increased community involvement and expansion of programming at FMoPA", said Roger Robson, Chairman of the FMoPA Board.

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, founded in 2001, is a not-for-profit museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art. It currently has over 800 members and is widely supported by the community. The museum collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known artists. To date, the museum has mounted 49 major photographic exhibitions. It also has a broad range of community programs including fee based photography classes and children's learning experiences, an international web-based photography contest and an acclaimed free "Literacy Through Photography Program", for underserved children.
