Front Range Pagan Pride, a local non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of religion and elimination of prejudice and discrimination based on religious beliefs, is holding a festival on Saturday September 12, 2009, 11am to 5pm at Stapleton Central Park in the Festival Area at 8601 Martin Luther King Blvd in Denver. Approx I-70 and Quebec in the Northfield area.
Plenty of parking at the Parking Garage at the Air Tower and on a bus route!
The purpose of the festival is to three-fold.
• First it is an opportunity for Pagans to network with one another and to celebrate the Autumn Equinox with an open ritual.
• Secondly we request attendees to bring a book to donate to the Alexandria Temple, a charitable activity, to share our abundant harvest with others in need, and to make a clear statement to those who have misconceptions about Paganism. We know that our ethics, based on concern for ecology, personal responsibility, and individual freedom, mean that we feel strongly called to actions of social responsibility. It is important for us to highlight our similarity to other religions in that regard.
• And lastly it is an opportunity for the local media and other interested people to come learn the truth about Paganism in our communities, refute common misconceptions, and draw political attention to Paganism in order to try to prevent legislative discrimination against Pagans.
Our special guest for FRPPD in September is River and Joyce Higginbotham authors of "Paganism, an Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions" and "Pagan Spirituality". I'm sure they will have copies of their latest book "ChristoPaganism" with them as well. It will be so much fun to meet them and spend some time with them!
We will be blessed by live bands performing. You will get to see Jennafire Pandora Celtica, Heartbeat AND international wonder Wendy Rule!
Our chosen charity this year is the Alexandria Temple, whose mission is to minister to Wiccans/Pagans in prison and jails, and to their families. We are collecting books for this valuable community service and appreciate all your support.
If you prefer, please bring a canned food item for Food Bank of the Rockies. Here are some examples of items that make great donations: Tuna, ham, beef stew, chili, baked beans, soup, fruit, vegetables, peanut butter, jelly and pasta. Non-glass containers are preferred.

What members are saying
“ Pagans don't have many opportunities to gather as a community. This was a great chance to gather, talk and support Pagan businesses. ”
