Meetup 4 - Responsive Web Design & Front-End Unit Testing

  • October 15, 2013 · 6:30 PM

In our forth meetup we will have two one hour sessions in two different topics - responsive web design from the eye of a designer and front-end unit testing.

17:30-18:00 - Gathering and Networking

19:00-19:15 - Break

19:15-20:00 - Quick Tour to Front-End Unit Testing

Abstract: Our goal is to create a responsive design that would provide the best possible experience to all of our users, regardless of how they accessed our website. Best way is to explore how we could enhance for wider screens, rather than attempt to squeeze our desktop website down to mobile.
Speaker: Shlomi Zigart
Speaker Bio:  UX Consultant & Designer for web and mobile. Proven record in user experience strategy, concept and detailed design for different platforms (Web, Desktop, Mobile, Tablets, and more). Formulating user experience design concepts.

Managing projects from start to finish. Working on projects that involve collaborating with a large team. In charge of what ideas and concepts go forward. Making decisions in a deadline driven environment in the most efficient way. Working closely with clients (holding meetings or sessions directly with them). For further details:

Title: Quick Tour to Front-End Unit Testing
Abstract: Unit Testing is an inseparable part of the development process, no matter which methodology you follow, be it TDD, or BDD, you know for sure that this investment is worthwhile, enabling early bug fixes, safe re-factoring, and better design. You want to test your JavaScript code but don’t know where to start? Which tools to pick? In this session we will take a look at the tools, how to combine them to play nicely together, and making Testing a breeze.
Speaker: Yaniv Yechezkel
Speaker Bio: Yaniv Yechezkel is an Architect with more than 12 years of experience in Training, Consulting and Development with an emphasis on Architecture, Distributed Systems and the Web Technology Stack. For the past couple of years Yaniv has been building cutting-edge JavaScript applications for both Web, and Mobile (PhoneGap) platforms, while using advanced standards, methodologies and techniques.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
