Reunion Jazz Orchestra at FitzGerald's

There is nothing quite like the Reunion Jazz Orchestra! All members of the RJO share a unique background. Each member is a “Son of Notre Dame”; either from Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, Illinois, or from that other Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Out of this creative environment have come many famous and award-winning musicians, such as, Jimmy Pankow (Chicago), Grammy nominee composer and pianist Jim McNeely (Vanguard Jazz Orchestra), Vibraphonist Dick Sisto, and Joe Sonnefeldt (Poi Dog Pondering).

The Reunion Jazz Orchestra has in its ranks doctors and architects, executives and entrepreneurs, and information technology professionals, and the band has as authentic a swing as you'll find anywhere. This RJO performance will also showcase the vocal stylings of Tammy McCann.

The Reunion Jazz Orchestra has performed at Navy Pier Winter Wonderfest, Addison Days, Niles Family Funfest, Cantigny Park Labor Day Festival, Collegiate Jazz Festival, and a variety of other benefits, dinners, and parties in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

The RJO is a volunteer alumni organization of Notre Dame College Prep ( All the money raised from performances and the sale of CDs is donated to Notre Dame College Prep for the support and enhancement of the music program. Due to their efforts, and the support of fans and friends, the Reunion Jazz Orchestra has recently set up a scholarship program at Notre Dame College Prep for students of the music department

$10. Big Band Jazz music is not the same as Dance Band music. Big Band Jazz involves familiar tunes but includes extended solos wherein these talented musicians get to show off a little for the crowd (and for their fellow band members). Intended primarily as a concert performance, there's limited space for dancing (some folks can't resist). Look for a table with a Meetup sign. Of course RSVPs are appreciated so we know how many jazz fans to expect, but last minute attendees are always welcome.

FitzGerald's does not serve food (not even pretzels!), but you can dine before the show next door at Capri Ristorante or bring your own snacks into FitzGerald's.

Check out the extensive monthly schedule of music and entertainment at FitzGerald's.
