Christmas is coming! That can only mean one thing; break out the baking artillery, the candy molds, the cookie sheets, the pie tins. It’s time for our 4th annual holiday exchange.
We are not limiting the baked goods to just cookies, so hunt down your family recipes or crack open that new cook book and be creative. The goodies must be home baked to participate in the exchange. Please no Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies or boxed brownie mixes allowed.
Bring all but one portion of your baked delights packaged up for each attendee. The last portion should display in your prettiest dish or cutest basket for that evenings pictures, sampling, and recipe rating. Cut-off date of exchange will be 12/7/2012, to get an accurate count of attendees.
Each guest should bake a half dozen (or half portion, i.e. ½ loaf etc.) of their goodies for each attendee to exchange. For example if 10 bakers RSVP you would make 5 dozen (10 portions) of the goodies, you would package up 4 ½ dozen (9 portions) to exchange and display the remainder. The hostess will send an e-mail out with the final attendee count around December 8th including the address for the event.
EXCHANGE RSVP RULES
You’ll need to let everyone know what kind/type of goodie you will be bringing when you RSVP. As this is an exchange, accurate participation numbers are vital. If there is the slightest chance you can’t make it, remove yourself from the list A.S.A.P. Please be sure to bring enough copies of your goodie recipe to go around.
I will be providing a simple but hearty dinner of Chicken and Stout Stew, breads, a vegetable "tree", winter fruit platter, water, ice tea and a festive, adult beverage!
